If you are looking to spend more time out on the river and in nature, we offer overnight canoe rentals for camping along the Delaware river within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.

If you have a couple days this is a really special way to experience and take in the beauty of the park. These trips can be leisurely floats or more intense paddle days depending on the section of river you choose.  All offering amazing views, small sets of class 1 & 2 rapids, wildlife sightings and pristine riverfront camping. Edge of the Woods Outfitters will help you choose the right length trip for your getaway. The National Park Service maintains dozens of free primitive camp sites, available on a first come, first serve basis. We recommend the 20 mile trip from Dingmans Ferry Access, ending at Smithfield Beach Access as we personally find this the most scenic section of river. For a more leisurely trip the 14 Mile paddle Eshback Launch to Smithfield Beach is perfect. Longer paddles over 26 miles are available for 3 day/ 2 night trips.

Park you vehicles at our River Base location, load up your camping gear in our vans and we transport you and your equipment to launch and you are on your way! We will pick you up at the specified end point when you complete your trip. Along the way, there are dozens of primitive camp sites to choose from. The sites are only accessible by boat, and there are no roads, bridges or houses along the way, just you, the river and the Bald Eagles.

Each primitive site is numbered and has a fire ring as well as a nearby privy. There is no potable water and food must be hung to keep the opportunistic critters like raccoons, opossums, and sometimes black bear away at night.  The campsites are available on a first come, first serve basis and tend to fill up rather quickly. Getting an early start is highly recommended, as is planning a mid-week trip. If you must go on a weekend, you may want to book one of the Alosa campsites which can be reserved in advance through the national recreation area site.

If you have a larger group, you will need to book one of the group sites available along the way. We recommend Valley View Campsites and Rivers Bend Campsite.
